Garden City
Garden City was named for gardens raised by Chinese immigrants who lived in the area. Chinden Boulevard, the city's main street, is also named for these gardens. Garden City, population 12,000 is completely surrounded by Boise, Idaho's capital city. It truly is the "Heart of the Treasure Valley" and is easily accessable from Boise, Meridian, Eagle and the outlying communities of Star, Kuna and Nampa.
When Mayor John Evans was asked, "What sets the City of Garden City apart from other cities?"
His response was, “The Boise River runs through the city with every resident within easy walking distance to the abundant wildlife and recreational opportunities afforded by this wonderful amenity. The Boise Mountain foothills provide an ever-changing backdrop with clear views directly to the Bogus Basin Ski resort just 18 miles away.
